About Us
The Morgan family have been involved in the seafood business since the 1890's and therefore have over 150 years of experience developing a passionate insight for seafood. Generations of family members have passed an indepth fish catching and processing knowledge so that the Morgan family members continue to use that heritage today.
The company was formally established in 1989 and to facilitate a unique "hand filleting" fish process, a custom built state-of-the-art plant was built in the heart of Cooley Peninsula overlooking the stunningly beautiful Carlingford Lough. The close proximity of this new plant to the Lough allows the ship-to-shore time to be kept to a minimum to ensure the catch was preserved at its peak of freshness once it reaches the plant.
The company continues to operate from this site adding a custom designed smoke house in 2000 so that they could develop a distinctive oak smoke salmon product. Ideally situated on the border with Northern Ireland, Morgans have built up a network of customers throughout almost every county in Ireland and within the various Retail & Wholesale sectors Morgans are widely established as experts in quality seafood processing.
With a strong focus on quality Morgans have continued to achieve the membership of the coveted BIM Seafood Circle which recognises the highest standards of seafood and service in Ireland. This accreditation is the peak in seafood excellence awards and through the adherence to HACCP and ISO9000 standards Morgans will continue to ensure the highest standards of quality in future.
